After having worked in the fashion and advertising world for nearly 25 years, it was time for a sabbatical, when Ans started painting again in which she puts all her energy and imagination. The beautiful scenery, both at home and abroad, inspired her. Therefore she paints landscapes, seascapes and mighty clouds of which the magnificence overwhelms her.

Her work has evolved from realistic to more abstract and expressionisme. This keeps the painting exciting and let?s the viewer?s create its own conception.

Ans works mainly with acrylic because of its bright colours, but she also regularly makes use of oil paint and/or mixed media.

Ans says: I immensely enjoy the painting and can forget everything around me. Often there is a picture in my head for weeks before I start to create the painting. My inspiration comes from nature, I will be touched by the beauty of the landscape, the sunshines on the embankment when you suddenly see the rainbow.... God?s world is amazing, enjoy it!
